Part-Time Accounting Intern:
We are looking for a motivated, fast learner with a positive attitude to join our CPA firm as a part-time accounting intern for the 2025 tax season. The position will begin in mid-January and end in April 2025. This is a great opportunity for someone who is studying accounting in college or who just wants to find out more about the work an accountant does. This is a paid, part-time internship, and we will provide training in our software and processes.
We are a full service CPA firm located in the Franconia area of Alexandria. Our specialty is providing accounting and tax services for small to medium size businesses and non-profits. We offer a fast paced, challenging, and diverse work environment.
Typical tasks and responsibilities include:
- Scanning and organizing client documents
- Creating workpapers from client documents and learning about different tax forms
- Assembling individual and business income tax returns, business licenses, personal property taxreturns, and depreciation schedules
- Filing, copying, answering phones, and other general office duties
- Travelling locally to mail items at the post office, pick up breakfast, or pick up supplies.
To be successful here you should:
- Have strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel ,Word and Outlook
- Have strong written and verbal skills
- Be willing to learn and be part of a team
- Have strong organizational skills
- Thrive in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment
- Have a positive, can-do attitude
- Be willing to work on Saturdays
